All I did was replace the CMOS battery and now everything powers up just fine. I thought the beer spill incident 5 months ago did more damage but I guess not. I now love the hp pavilion all over again for being so strong and surviving that spill.

The LCD and keyboard still don't work so I'm using a monitor and external keyboard. Basically I have my laptop set up as a desktop. The only downsides are I have to now get a super long headphone chord, and the fans aren't working as good as they should be.

So I take it back, you aren't a piece of shit laptop.
